Waterfall is a hard hike in Idaho's Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness, on the North Fork Ranger District of the Salmon-Challis National Forest. The trail is an out-and-back that climbs from about 3,400 feet to nearly 9,000 feet, with a total elevation gain of 665 feet. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is accessible. The trail is natural-surfaced and allows horses. Bikes are not permitted. It is open year-round. The climb is steep, and the high point sits at 9,034 feet. The route is short, about 32 miles, but the elevation gain makes it a demanding outing. Nearby, Gant Ridge lies just 0.4 miles away, and Harbor Lake and Mirror Lake are each about 1.5 to 1.7 miles off. Puddin Mountain is about 1.7 miles away.
