Aspen Loop is a 2.6-mile, out-and-back hike in Idaho, managed by the Forest Service and about 1.5 miles from Sun Valley. It is rated easy, with a total elevation gain of 637 feet from a low point of about 6,422 feet to a high of about 7,054 feet. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical July averages from a nearby weather station in Ketchum run about 80°F for highs and 45°F for lows, while winter brings highs near 30°F and frequent snow days from December through February. Bikes are allowed on the trail, which has a natural surface. The route starts right next to two other hikes, Proctor Mountain and Corral Creek, and Boundary campground is about 0.6 miles away. For fishing, the Big Wood River lies about 3 miles off.
