Taylor Canyon is a 4-mile loop hike in Idaho's Sawtooth National Forest, within the Ketchum Ranger District. The trail rises from about 6,300 feet to roughly 7,500 feet, with a total elevation gain of 1,159 feet, and is rated moderate. The Forest Service manages the land. The route is a loop, so it starts and ends at the same point. It is open year-round, and the trip takes about two hours. The trail is natural-surfaced and allows both horses and bikes. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Ketchum show July highs around 80°F with lows near 45°F, and the station sits about 1,600 feet below the trail's high point, so temperatures on the ridge run cooler. Nearby, the Fox Cr. Loop and Harper's Trail are each about 1.7 miles away, and the Boundary campground is about 2.5 miles off. The Sawtooth National Recreation Area, about 4.3 miles away, offers lake fishing.
