The Blue-Green Trail is a short, easy hike in Connecticut, about 0.6 miles long and with a total elevation gain of 105 feet. It is a point-to-point route, and the climb is front-loaded, with the steepest stretch at about 0.5 miles in, where the grade reaches 10 percent. The trail starts at roughly 1,006 feet and reaches a high point of about 1,018 feet before descending slightly to a low of about 906 feet. The nearest town is Lamson Corner, about a mile away. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Burlington show May highs around 70°F and September highs around 75°F, while July averages about 84°F. That station sits well below the trail, so temperatures on the route run cooler. The trip takes about half an hour. The Tunxis Blue-Red South Trail is about 0.7 miles away, and the Punch Brook Trail is about 0.9 miles away. Mountain bikers can head to Big Dipper, about 0.8 miles off, and climbers can find the Burlington Fish Hatchery Boulders about 1.3 miles away.
