Fiske H. Ventres Bird Trail is a short, easy hike of about 0.3 miles in Taine Mountain Preserve Site in Connecticut, managed by a non-governmental organization. The trail is a point-to-point route with a low point of 756 feet and a high of 832 feet, and it gains about 70 feet of elevation. The climb is back-loaded, with the steepest stretch at about 0.12 miles in, where the grade reaches 6 percent. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Burlington show May highs around 70°F and September highs around 75°F, while July averages about 84°F and January highs sit near 36°F. The trail sits close to several other routes. The Tunxis Blue-Red North Trail and the Taine Mountain Road Blue Trail both start about 0.1 mile away, and the Red Trail is about 0.4 mile off. Climbers can find the Burlington Fish Hatchery Boulders roughly 0.9 mile away.
