Terrell Trail is an easy hike in Lake Guntersville State Park in Alabama, managed by State Park and Recreation. The trail is about 1.4 miles long and rises roughly 250 feet from its starting point, which sits at about 813 feet. The full out-and-back route is about 2.9 miles, with a total climb of about 650 feet and the steepest stretch at about 0.75 miles in, where the grade reaches about 13%. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show October highs around 73°F with lows near 53°F, and April is similar at about 72°F by day and 50°F at night. That station sits a few hundred feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the higher ground run a little cooler.
