South Fork Lakes is a 3.3-mile out-and-back hike in Wyoming's Popo Agie Wilderness, within the Washakie Ranger District of Shoshone National Forest. The trail rises about 264 feet from a low point of 10,391 feet to a high of 10,670 feet, and it is rated moderate. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is open year-round. The trail is natural-surfaced and allows horses, but bikes are not permitted. That makes it a good fit for riders on foot or on horseback, and the route's short climb and low elevation make it a practical outing in any season. Washakie lies about half a mile away, and Moss Lake is about 1.5 miles off. For climbing, Pingora and Wolfs Head are both about 4 miles away.
