Moss Lake is a hard hike in the Popo Agie Wilderness, part of the Washakie Ranger District of Shoshone National Forest in Wyoming. The nearest town is the Temple Creek Summer Home Area, about 13 miles away. The trail is an out-and-back of about 11 miles, with a one-way climb of roughly 1,260 feet from a low point of about 9,884 feet to a high of about 10,667 feet. The route is on natural surface, and horses are allowed. Bikes are not. The Forest Service manages the land. Several other destinations sit close by. Washakie is about a mile away, and South Fork Lakes and Onion Meadows are each about 1.5 miles off. Dickinson Creek Campground is about 8.5 miles away.
