Cook Lake is an easy hike of about 0.8 miles in the Popo Agie Wilderness, part of the Washakie Ranger District of Shoshone National Forest in Wyoming. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is a short out-and-back with a one-way climb of about 80 feet, from a low point of roughly 9,890 feet to a high of about 9,977 feet. The trail is natural-surfaced and allows horses, and bikes are not permitted. That makes it a simple outing for riders on foot or horseback. Several other destinations sit within a few miles. The High Meadow Connector is about 1.6 miles away, and High Meadow Lake and Smith Lake are both within about 3 miles. Dickinson Creek Campground, about 3.8 miles off, offers a place to stay.
