Oak Hole Lane is an easy, short loop of about a mile, with a rise of about 22 feet from the low point at 1,053 feet to the high at 1,093 feet. The trail passes within a mile of Collegedale, Tennessee, making it a convenient stop for anyone already in town. The route is a loop, and the steepest part comes at about the halfway mark, with a grade of about 5 percent. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Chattanooga show October highs around 74°F and lows near 51°F, with fewer wet days than in the summer months, when highs reach about 90°F. Several other trails sit within a short distance, including Sabbath Trail and Big Forest, both about 0.1 mile away, and Forest Lane at about 0.2 mile. Goliath wall, a climbing area, is about half a mile off.
