Lookout Hill is an easy out-and-back hike in Tennessee, about a mile from the town of Collegedale. The trail is roughly 2.2 miles long, and it gains about 450 feet in elevation over the course of the round trip, with the high point at 1,118 feet and the low at 979 feet. The climb is most steep around the third of a mile in, where the grade reaches about 14 percent, and the total trip takes about an hour to complete. Spring and fall are the most comfortable seasons to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run to highs in the mid-70s in April and October, while July and August average around 90 degrees. That station sits about 450 feet lower than the hill, so temperatures on the summit run cooler. Several other trails start close by, including Rolling Ridge at 0.1 mile, Sabbath Trail at 0.2 mile and Oak Hole Lane at 0.2 mile. For climbers, Goliath wall is about 0.7 mile away.
