Bobcat is a short, easy out-and-back hike in Tennessee, about 0.9 miles from the town of Collegedale. The route is less than a mile long, with a low point of 1,022 feet and a high of 1,056 feet, a climb of about 34 feet. It's an easy walk that fits easily into a day spent exploring the Collegedale area. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Chattanooga show October highs around 74°F with lows near 51°F, and April is similar at about 74°F by day and 50°F at night. That station sits about 385 feet lower than the high point, so temperatures on the trail run a little cooler. Several other trails start close by.
