Smiley Boulder is a bouldering area in Pennsylvania, about 0.8 miles from Mount Gretna Heights. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with the Smiley Area, The Adjustor Boulder and Shamu all within about a tenth of a mile. The climbing here is all bouldering, with seven routes ranging from V0- to V6. The most common grade is V5, and the hardest is Nose Picker at V6. Smiley Slab is the easiest, at V0-, and Smiley Face is at V4. For comfortable weather, late spring and early fall are the best bets. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Lebanon run to highs around 72°F in May and 76°F in September, with July the warmest month at about 84°F. That station sits roughly 380 feet lower than the boulders, so temperatures on the rock run a little cooler. The Fraggle Rock Trail, a mountain biking route, is about 0.4 miles away, and the Chautauqua Trail hike is about 1.1 miles off.
