Tick Ranch is a Forest Service climbing area in the Bend/Fort Rock Ranger District of Oregon's Deschutes National Forest, about 6.6 miles from the Bend weather station. The area is a cluster of boulders, with the closest neighbor, 2) Main Area (John's Slab / Tick boulder), just 0.1 mile away. Four climbing routes are listed here, and they all fall within the bouldering style. The routes run from V1+ to V5. Tree Squeeze is the easiest at V1+, and Ingition is the hardest at V5, with Clark's Scoop and Tree Spot Dyno in between. Clark Shelk is believed to have first climbed Clark's Scoop, and Evan Webb climbed Ingition on September 14, 2021. Summer is the driest stretch, with typical July highs around 84°F and lows near 49°F and only about two wet days a month. Winters are colder and wetter, with typical December highs around 41°F and about four snow days. Nearby, 1) East Hillside Zone 1 and Tick Ranch / The Deep sit within half a mile, and the Western Larch Trail and Phil's Shevlin Park are hikes about 0.8 mile away.
