Smith Rock Group is a climbing area within Smith Rock State Park in Oregon, on city-managed land. It sits among several other named climbing areas and trails, including the Phoenix and Llama Wall areas and the River Trail, all within about a tenth of a mile. The climbing here is a mix of trad and sport routes, with four routes listed in total. Three are trad, and one is sport. Grades run from 5.2 up to 5.10d, with the median around 5.10b. Northwest Corner is the easiest at 5.2, and West tower is the hardest at 5.10d. For timing, late spring and early fall tend to be the most comfortable. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 69°F and September highs around 79°F, while July and August average in the upper 80s. Nearby, the River Trail and Rim Rock Trail are both within a third of a mile. For an overnight stay, Skull Hollow campground is about 4.7 miles away.
