Upper Sidewinder is a short, easy hike in southern Oregon, about 1.3 miles from the town of Pelican City. The route is an out-and-back of roughly 0.66 miles, with a total climb of about 21 feet and a total descent of about 21 feet. The trail is nearly flat, and the high point sits at about 4,271 feet. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Klamath Falls show July highs around 86°F with only about two wet days, while winter highs stay near 40°F with more frequent rain. Several other trails start close by. Powerline is about 0.1 mile away, and Autobahn, Sidewinder and Sawmill Trail are each about 0.3 mile away.
