Big Sky is an easy out-and-back hike in southern Oregon, about 1.5 miles from Klamath Falls. The route is short, covering roughly 1.5 miles with a total elevation gain of 452 feet, and it reaches a high point of 4,548 feet. The climb is gentle, with the steepest stretch at about 0.3 miles in, where the grade reaches 10 percent. The most comfortable months for a visit are typically June and September. A nearby weather station records typical average highs of 76°F in June and 77°F in September, with only a few wet days in each. That station sits about 464 feet lower than the high point, so temperatures on the trail run a little cooler. The hike takes about half an hour to complete. Several other short routes start close by, including Five Gallon and Express Lane, each about 0.1 mile away, and Lakeview and Tunnel of Love, each about 0.3 mile away. For climbing, Cougar Rock Boulders lies about 5.6 miles off.
