Sidewinder is an easy out-and-back hike in southern Oregon, about 1.3 miles from Klamath Falls. The route is short, covering roughly 1.6 miles round trip with a total elevation gain of about 53 feet. The climb is gentle, with the steepest stretch at about 0.2 miles from the start, where the grade reaches about 4%. The most comfortable months for a visit are typically June and September. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show June highs around 76°F and September highs around 77°F, with only a few wet days in each month. Winter is much cooler, with January highs near 41°F and lows around 21°F. Several other trails sit close by. Sawmill Trail and Autobahn are each about 0.1 mile away, and Hayride is about 0.2 mile away. For climbing, Cougar Rock Boulders is about 5 miles off.
