Upper Eastview is an easy out-and-back hike of about 2.6 miles in the Siskiyou Mountains Ranger District of the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forests in southern Oregon. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is natural-surfaced, with horses and bikes both allowed. The route starts at about 4,776 feet and climbs to a high point of 5,073 feet, with a total gain of 985 feet for the round trip. The steepest stretch comes at about 0.69 miles in, where the grade reaches 18 percent. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the Howard Prairie Dam weather station, about 16 miles away, show July and August highs near 79°F with only two or three wet days a month. Winter brings highs in the mid-30s and regular snow days. Nearby, Corp Camp and Bull Gap are both under a mile away, and the Upper Missing Link is about 0.7 miles off. For an overnight stay, Mt Ashland campground sits about 4 miles away.
