Mirror Lake Snowshoe is a moderate out-and-back hike in Oregon's Mt. Hood National Forest, within the Zigzag Ranger District. The trail is about 3.5 miles long, with a total elevation gain of 1,298 feet, and it reaches a high point of 4,152 feet. The route starts at an elevation of about 3,660 feet and ends at a similar level, so the climb is roughly equal to the descent. The most comfortable months for a visit are July and August, when typical averages from the nearby Government Camp weather station run around 69 to 70°F for highs and 48°F for lows, with only about four wet days a month. Winter is cold and wet, with January highs near 37°F and lows around 26°F. The trip takes about two hours. The Mirror Lake Trail #664 and the Gnar-Gnar Trail both lie within a mile of the route. Kiwanis Camp Crag, a climbing area, is about 1.9 miles away, and Still Creek campground is about 2.1 miles away.
