Seven Mile Ridge is a hard, out-and-back hike in the Siskiyou Mountains Ranger District of Oregon's Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forests, about 8.7 miles long with a total elevation gain of 2,656 feet. The trail starts at roughly 4,709 feet and climbs to a high point of 6,127 feet before descending back, and the steepest stretch comes just over 0.1 mile from the start, where the grade reaches 32%. The trail is on natural surface and allows both bikes and horses. It is not an accessible trail. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical July and August highs reach about 79°F with only two or three wet days a month, according to averages from a nearby weather station at Howard Prairie Dam. That station sits well below the ridge, so temperatures on the high ground run cooler. The trip is estimated to take about four hours, and the trail is open year round. Wrangle Campground, about 3.7 miles away, is the closest place to camp. The Little Applegate River, about 2 miles off, offers canoeing. Wagner Butte and the Bike Wash Trail, both within about 2 miles, are other nearby hikes.
