Rimrock Trail #704 is a 2.65-mile hike in the Clackamas River Ranger District of Mt. Hood National Forest in Oregon, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is rated easy, and it rises about 892 feet from a starting point near 4,116 feet to a high of about 4,958 feet. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the nearby Government Camp weather station show July and August highs around 70°F with only about four wet days a month, while winter months bring highs in the mid-30s and rain on most days. The trail is a point-to-point route, and the steepest stretch comes at about 0.63 miles in, where the grade reaches 22%. Horses are allowed. Cottonwood Meadows is about half a mile away, and Hideaway Lake campground is about 1.2 miles off. Shell Rock Lake and Shellrock Creek, a canoeing spot, are both within about 1.5 miles.
