Old Vista Ridge Trail #626A is a 4.5-mile out-and-back hike in Oregon's Mount Hood Wilderness, within the Hood River Ranger District of Mt. Hood National Forest. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail's route rises from about 4,656 feet to a high point of 4,915 feet, with a total elevation gain of 1,459 feet over the round trip. The climb is moderate, and the steepest stretch comes at about 1.8 miles in, where the grade reaches 21%. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Government Camp show July and August highs around 70°F with only about four wet days a month, while winter brings highs in the mid-30s and rain on most days. The trip takes about two hours. Pinnacle Ridge and Vista Ridge Trail #626 are both within about 2 miles, and Kinni Kinnik Campground is about 3 miles away. Clear Branch, a canoeing spot, is about 2.5 miles off.
