Marvin's Garden is an easy out-and-back hike in the Bend/Fort Rock Ranger District of Oregon's Deschutes National Forest, about half a mile from the town of Bend. The route is short, covering roughly a mile of trail with a total gain of about 80 feet and a high point of 3,883 feet. The climb is gentle, with the steepest stretch at about 0.38 miles in, where the grade reaches around 5%. The trail starts and ends at roughly 3,841 feet, and the trip is estimated to take about half an hour. Because the high point is only about 40 feet above the low point, the hike works well as a quick stop between other outings in the area. For the most comfortable conditions, aim for late spring through early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Bend show highs of about 66°F in May and 76°F in September, with July and August peaking near 84°F. Winter brings highs in the low 40s and several snow days a month from December through February. Several other hikes sit within a quarter mile, including Phil's, the Cascade Highlands Trail and the Phil's Trailhead Skills Loop. The West Bend Trail is about 0.4 miles away. Climbers can find Skyliners Road about 1.4 miles off.
