Indian Springs is a 4-mile out-and-back hike in Oregon's Mark O. Hatfield Wilderness, within the Hood River Ranger District of Mt. Hood National Forest. The trail is managed by the Forest Service and rated moderate, with a total elevation gain of 2,052 feet and a high point of 4,240 feet. The climb is front-loaded, with the steepest stretch at about 1.3 miles, where the grade reaches 32 percent. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Government Camp show July and August highs around 70°F with only about four wet days a month, while winter months bring highs in the mid-30s and rain on 20 or more days. The trip takes about 2.5 hours. Eagle Tanner and Eagle Benson are both hikes within about a mile and a half, and Wahtum Lake Campground is about 2.4 miles away. Eagle Creek, a canoeing spot, is about 1.8 miles off.
