Gwynn Creek is a 4.7-mile out-and-back hike in Oregon's Siuslaw National Forest, within the Central Coast Ranger District-ODNRA and near Neptune State Scenic Viewpoint. The trail rises from about 200 feet to 985 feet, with a total elevation gain of 1,545 feet, and the steepest stretch comes at about 2 miles in, where the grade reaches 30%. The route is rated moderate. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Yachats show July and August highs around 64 to 65°F with only five or six wet days a month, while winter months bring highs in the low 50s and rain on 17 to 20 days. That station sits about 935 feet lower than the trail's high point, so temperatures on the trail run cooler. The hike is on natural surface and bikes are allowed. It is not an accessible trail. The trip takes about 2.5 hours, and the trail is open year-round. Cummins Creek and Cooks Ridge are both within a mile, and Cape Perpetua campground is about 0.8 miles away. Paddlers can reach Tenmile Creek, about 5.5 miles off.
