Cummins Creek Loop Trail is a 3-mile out-and-back hike on natural surface in Oregon's Siuslaw National Forest, within the Central Coast Ranger District-ODNRA. The Forest Service manages the land. It's a moderate trail with a total elevation gain of about 1,081 feet and a high point of 1,257 feet. The climb is front-loaded, with the steepest stretch coming around 0.7 miles from the start, where the grade reaches about 24 percent. The trail is not accessible. Summer and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. At the Yachats weather station, 4 miles away, typical averages run from highs around 64 to 65°F in July and August with only five or six wet days a month, while winter months bring highs in the low 50s and rain on 17 to 20 days. That station sits well below the trail, so temperatures on the route run cooler. The trip takes about 1.5 hours and the trail is open year-round. Nearby, Cooks Ridge and Cummins Creek are both within about a mile. Cape Perpetua campground is about 1.1 miles away, and the Yachats River offers canoeing roughly 4.5 miles off.
