Frog Lake is a 2-mile out-and-back hike in the Hood River Ranger District of Mt. Hood National Forest in Oregon, managed by the Forest Service. The trail rises from about 3,889 feet to 4,745 feet, with a total elevation gain of 1,730 feet, and the steepest stretch comes within the first 0.2 miles at a 31% grade. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Government Camp show July and August highs around 69 to 70°F with only about four wet days a month, while winter months bring highs in the mid-30s and rain on 20 or more days. The trip takes about 1.5 hours. Frog Lake Butte and the Frog Lake Butte Trail #484 both lie within half a mile. Barlow Creek campground is about 2.5 miles away, and the White River offers canoeing about 3 miles off.
