Eastview is a 5-mile out-and-back hike in Oregon's Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forests, within the Siskiyou Mountains Ranger District. The trail climbs about 1,760 feet over its length, with the high point at 4,739 feet and the low at 4,033 feet. It is a moderate route, and the steepest stretch comes at about 2.1 miles in, with a grade of 18 percent. The trail is on natural surface, and horses and bikes are allowed. The most comfortable months for a visit are July and August, when typical highs reach about 79°F and wet days are only two or three a month, according to averages from a nearby weather station at Howard Prairie Dam. Winters are cold and snowy, with typical January highs around 36°F and snow on nine days that month. The Eastview - Lower Trailhead is the starting point, and the hike is open year-round. It takes about 2.5 hours to complete. Lower Missing Link and Upper Eastview are both about a mile away, and Poison Oak Wall, a climbing area, is about 3.5 miles off.
