Camp Windy Trail is a short, easy hike in the Hood River Ranger District of Mt. Hood National Forest in Oregon, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is about a mile long, with a one-way climb of 348 feet from a low point of about 5,224 feet to a high of about 5,573 feet. The route is a point-to-point trail, and the steepest stretch comes early on, with a 17% grade at about 0.12 miles. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the nearby Government Camp weather station show July and August highs around 70°F with only about four wet days a month, while winter months bring highs in the mid-30s and rain on most days. That station sits roughly 1,600 feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the trail run cooler. Horses are allowed on the trail. Crane Prairie and Gunsight Butte are both within a mile, and Bonney Meadows and Badger Lake campgrounds are about 1.7 to 1.8 miles away.
