Pocket Creek Nordic is a moderate out-and-back hike in Oregon's Mt. Hood National Forest, within the Hood River Ranger District. The trail is managed by the Forest Service and runs about 8.5 miles round trip, with a total elevation gain of 2,249 feet. The route starts at roughly 3,814 feet and climbs to a high point of 4,421 feet, with the steepest stretch at about 0.7 miles in, where the grade reaches 16 percent. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the nearby Government Camp weather station show July and August highs around 70°F with only about four wet days a month, while winter months bring highs in the mid-30s and rain on 20 or more days. The trip takes about four hours. The closest neighbors are the East Fork and Meadows Creek Tie Nordic hikes, each about a mile away. Badger Lake and Nottingham campgrounds sit within about 3 miles.
