Badger Lake Trail is a short, easy hike of about 0.7 miles in the Badger Creek Wilderness, on the Barlow Ranger District of Mt. Hood National Forest in Oregon. The route gains about 11 feet in elevation, from a low point of roughly 4,477 feet to a high of about 4,498 feet. It is a point-to-point trail rather than a loop, and it is managed by the Forest Service. The trail sits in designated wilderness, and horses are allowed. That makes it a practical addition to a trip that includes time on foot or on horseback. The nearest town is Government Camp, about 9 miles away. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the nearby Government Camp weather station run to highs around 69 to 70°F in July and August, with only about four wet days a month, while winter months bring highs in the mid-30s and rain on most days. Badger Lake campground is about 0.3 miles from the trail, and Jean Lake and Badger Creek Trail are both within a mile. For an overnight stay, Bonney Meadows campground is about 2.8 miles away.
