South Umpqua Falls is a Forest Service campground in the Tiller Ranger District of the Umpqua National Forest in Oregon. It is a simple base for an overnight stay rather than a destination with a set route. Vault toilets are the only facility on site, and a fee is charged for use. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Toketee Falls weather station show July and August highs around 85 to 86°F with only three wet days a month, while winter brings highs in the low 40s and rain on most days. The closest neighbor is the South Umpqua River, about a mile away, with paddling on the river. Acker Rock and Acker Rock Lookout sit roughly 2 miles off, and Ash Flat Campground is just beyond them.
