Skillet Creek is a Forest Service campground in the Tiller Ranger District of Oregon's Umpqua National Forest. It sits among a cluster of campgrounds and trails in the district, and the nearest town is Tiller. Vault toilets are the only facility listed for the site, and there is no fee to stay here. That makes it a simple base for an overnight in the forest, with no need to plan around a fee or a full set of amenities. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Toketee Falls weather station show July and August highs around 85 to 86°F with only about three wet days a month, while winter brings highs in the low 40s and rain on most days. Buckhead Mountain campground is about a mile away, and Camp Comfort Campground is about 1.7 miles off. The Lakes Trail and Acker Rock are both within about 3 miles.
