Rawlhide Wall is a climbing area in North Carolina, about a mile from the town of Mountain View. It sits among a cluster of named climbing walls and boulders, with Resurgence Walls and Trundlasaurus Wall just 0.1 mile away, and the Backside Trail hiking route 0.2 mile off. The wall holds seven routes, ranging from 5.5 to 5.11. The sport routes include Rocky and Bullwinkle at 5.10 and Disgustipated at 5.11. Among the trad options, Cro-Magnon Crack is 5.5. Arborsit is a mixed route at 5.11. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to climb here. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Gastonia put October highs around 74°F with lows near 51°F, and April is similar at 74°F and 50°F. That station sits roughly 500 feet lower than the wall, so temperatures up high run cooler. Rocktop Trail and Tower Trail are both about half a mile away. Paddlers can reach Long Creek, about 5 miles off, or South Fork Crowders Creek across the state line in South Carolina.
