Red Wall is a climbing area in North Carolina, about a mile from the town of Mountain View. It sits among several other named climbing areas, including Main Climbing Areas, Nuke the Whales Wall and Rising Sun Wall, all within a tenth of a mile. The area offers a range of climbing styles, with 30 routes covering trad, mixed and sport climbing. Grades run from 5.3 to 5.12c, with typical averages from the YDS scale. Examples include Red Wall Chimney, a trad route at 5.3, and Fashion Direct, a sport route at 5.12c. Mixed climbing is also well represented, with Kitty Litter at 5.9+. Spring and fall are the most comfortable seasons to visit.
