Stockade Wall is a climbing area in New York, about 0.3 miles from the town of Ramapo. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots and trails, with Sunny Picnics, n. Perched Ramparts and Baldy all within about a tenth of a mile, and the White Diamond Trail just as close. The area has five routes, four of which are mixed and one is trad. Grades run from 5.3 to 5.11-, with Stockade Scramble at 5.3 and Crankenstein at 5.11- as the easiest and hardest. The mixed routes include Once Was Choss But Now Is Found (5.8) and Zetastein (5.10), and the first ascents of several are listed. For timing, late spring and early fall are the most comfortable. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 71°F and September highs around 76°F, with July peaking near 84°F. That station sits about 9.6 miles away and roughly 290 feet lower, so temperatures at the wall run a little cooler. Nearby, the 7 Hills Trail and Seven Hills are both about 0.7 miles away.
