The King Wall is a climbing area in the High Peaks Wilderness of New York, managed by the State Department of Conservation. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots, with Chapel Pond Slab, Tanager Face and B: Chapel Pond Pass all about 0.3 miles away. The area has 10 routes, split evenly between sport and trad climbing, with grades ranging from 5.7 to 5.12a. The hardest of them is Kingdom Come, a sport route at 5.12a, and The Keep, a trad route at 5.11b. The Prince, a trad route at 5.7, is the easiest. Summer is the most comfortable time to climb. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Lake Placid show July highs around 74°F with lows near 54°F, while winter highs stay in the 20s. For a walk, the S. Burns Weston Trail starts about 0.4 miles away, and the Nubble Trail, Washbowl Trail and Felix Adler Trail are all within about a mile and a half.
