Frontiertown Crag is a climbing area in New York, about half a mile from the town of North Hudson. It sits close to town, making it an easy stop for climbers heading out from North Hudson. The crag has six routes, with styles ranging from sport and trad to bouldering. The grades run from 5.7+ up to 5.13b, with a few in the 5.12 range. Sport climbers will find Kung-Fu Kegels at 5.13a and Witness the Sickess at 5.13b, while Looney Toons is a trad route at 5.12a. Summer is the most comfortable time to climb. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Newcomb show July highs around 77°F with lows near 53°F, while winter highs stay in the 20s. Other climbing is close by at Sweet Fern Hill, about 5 miles away, and Ragged Mountain, about 7 miles away. For a hike, the Hammond Pond Wild Forest Trail is about 1.5 miles off, and the Bass Lake trail is about 2.8 miles away.
