Timber Peak is a hard hike in the Magdalena Ranger District of Cibola National Forest in New Mexico, about 8.7 miles long with a one-way elevation gain of 1,530 feet. The trail starts at a low point of about 9,018 feet and climbs to a high of about 10,213 feet. The route is an out-and-back on natural surface, and it is open to both horses and bikes. The Forest Service manages the land. Several other hikes sit within a few tenths of a mile, including Water Canyon Road, South Baldy and East Fork Sawmill. Water Canyon Campground is about 3.3 miles away.
