Embudito Canyon Trail is a short, easy out-and-back hike in the Sandia Mountain Wilderness, part of the Sandia Ranger District of Cibola National Forest in New Mexico. The trail is managed by the Forest Service and runs about 2.3 miles round trip, with a one-way elevation gain of 610 feet from a low point of 6,793 feet to a high of 7,651 feet. The most comfortable months for a visit are typically late spring and early fall. Typical averages from the nearby Sandia Park weather station, which sits about 620 feet lower than the trail's high point, show May highs around 73°F and September highs around 77°F, with lows in the low 40s. Winter is cold, with January highs near 44°F and lows around 19°F. Several other routes lie close by. The Oso Ridge Bypass starts just 0.1 mile away, and the Oso Ridge-Embudito Link is about 0.4 mile off. The Old Embudito Trail is roughly 0.9 mile away, and the Northrop Trail is about 1.1 mile away.
