Doc Long is a short, easy hike in the Sandia Ranger District of Cibola National Forest in New Mexico, about a mile from the community of Sandia Park. The trail is an out-and-back that covers roughly 0.36 miles, with a one-way climb of about 33 feet from a low point of 7,293 feet to a high of 7,365 feet. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Sandia Park show May highs around 73°F and September highs around 77°F, while winter highs sit in the low to mid 40s. Several other trails start close by. Bill Spring is about 0.1 mile away, Sulphur is about 0.2 mile away, and Old Faulty Trail is about 0.3 mile away. Climbers can find Pino Wall about 3.2 miles off.
