Barts is a hard hike of about 3.6 miles on natural surface in the Sandia Ranger District of Cibola National Forest in New Mexico. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is an out-and-back that climbs from about 7,531 feet to roughly 9,150 feet, with a one-way gain of about 1,591 feet. The climb is steep, and the trail is short. Because it is a hard route, plan on a full day with plenty of time for the ascent and descent. Bart's Trail (195) and Faulty both start about 0.1 mile away, and Canoncito is about 0.2 mile off. For climbing, Upper Simms is about 3.9 miles away.
