The 10K Trail South is an easy out-and-back hike in the Sandia Mountain Wilderness, part of the Sandia Ranger District of Cibola National Forest in New Mexico. The trail is about 4.7 miles long, with a one-way elevation gain of 506 feet, and it runs from a low point of about 9,408 feet to a high of about 9,962 feet. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route lies within designated wilderness. The trail is short and gentle, making it a straightforward outing for a day in the mountains. Pino Canyon Overlook sits just 0.1 mile away, and the Pino Wall climbing area is about 0.6 mile off. The Challenge Trail, a cross-country ski route, is roughly 0.9 mile away, and the Tree Spring hike is about a mile out.
