Acequia Trail (227) is an easy out-and-back hike in the Sandia Ranger District of Cibola National Forest in New Mexico, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is about 1.08 miles long, with a total climb of 387 feet from a low point of 7,114 feet to a high of 7,513 feet. The round-trip distance is about 2.2 miles. For comfortable weather, late spring and early fall are the best bets. Typical averages from the nearby Sandia Park weather station, which sits a few hundred feet lower, show May highs around 73°F and September highs around 77°F, with lows in the low to mid 40s. Several other trails start close by. Wagon is about 0.1 mile away, Cienega Horse Bypass Trail (266) is about 0.2 mile away, and Armijo is about 0.4 mile away. Climbers can find Pino Wall about 3.5 miles off.
