Valle Trail (256) is a short, easy hike of about 1.1 miles on an out-and-back route in Cibola National Forest, managed by the Forest Service. The trail rises about 110 feet from its low point at 7,084 feet to a high of 7,217 feet, so it's a gentle climb that fits easily into a longer outing on the surrounding trail network. The most comfortable months for a visit are typically late spring and early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Sandia Park run from highs around 73°F and lows near 41°F in May to highs around 77°F and lows near 46°F in September. Winter is much colder, with January highs averaging about 44°F and lows around 19°F. The trail sits close to several other routes. Cienega Horse Bypass Trail (226) and Armijo are each about 0.1 mile away, and the Cresta Trail (258) is about 0.4 mile off. For climbing, Pino Wall is about 4 miles away.
