Jackrabbit Buttress is a climbing area in the Rainbow Mountain Wilderness, within the Bureau of Land Management's Red Rock/Sloan Field Office in Nevada. It sits among several other climbing areas, including Aquarium Wall and Juniper Canyon, both about 0.1 mile away. The area is a traditional climbing spot, with 26 routes listed, all of them trad. Grades range from 5.6 to 5.10+, with a median of 5.9. Some of the named routes include Geronimo (5.6), Cottontail (5.8), and Tan Clam (5.10+). Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to climb. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 80°F and October highs around 75°F, while July averages reach about 95°F. That station sits roughly 1,400 feet lower than the buttress, so temperatures on the rock run cooler. Pine Creek Trail and Dale's Trail are both within a mile. Red Rock Canyon Campground, about 6 miles away, is the closest campground.
