Rose Tower is a climbing area in Nevada's Rainbow Mountain Wilderness, on land managed by the Bureau of Land Management's Red Rock/Sloan Field Office. It sits among a cluster of other climbing areas, with Aquarium Wall and Jungle Wall each about 0.1 mile away and Jackrabbit Buttress about 0.2 mile off. The climbing here is all trad, with nine routes ranging from 5.7 to 5.10. Among them are Olive Oil, a 5.7 first ascended by Jorge and Joanne Urioste with John Williamson in 1978, and Jaws II, a 5.10b. The area's high point is the tower itself, and the surrounding rock makes it a compact destination for a day of climbing. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show April highs around 70°F and October highs around 75°F, while July and August average in the mid-90s. That station sits about 1,400 feet lower than the tower, so temperatures up high run cooler. Pine Creek Trail is about half a mile away, and Red Rock Canyon Campground is roughly 6 miles off.
