Challenger Wall is a climbing area in Nevada's Rainbow Mountain Wilderness, managed by the Bureau of Land Management's Red Rock/Sloan Field Office. It sits within the wilderness, about 0.2 miles from Jet Stream Wall and 0.3 miles from Brownstone Wall, so it is part of a cluster of climbing areas in this corner of the Red Rock/Sloan Field Office. The climbing here is all trad, with 10 routes ranging from 5.10b to 5.11c. The most notable are Space Cowboys at 5.10b, Challenger at 5.10d and Enterprise at 5.11a. The area is named for the Challenger route, which was first climbed by Jay Smith and Randal Grandstaff. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show April highs around 70°F and October highs around 75°F, while July and August average in the mid-90s. That station sits about 1,000 feet lower than the wall, so temperatures on the rock run cooler. Pine Creek Trail is 0.8 miles away, and Red Rock Canyon Campground is 6.4 miles away.
