The Tahoe Rim Trail is a 62.7-mile hike in Nevada's Carson Ranger District of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, managed by the Forest Service. It is an expert-level route, with a one-way climb of about 9,600 feet and a total round-trip gain of about 17,200 feet. The trail is an out-and-back, starting at roughly 8,890 feet and reaching a high point of about 9,724 feet. The trail is long and steep, with a steady climb profile. The low point is about 7,022 feet, and the route is roughly 125 miles long when you go all the way out and back. Mt. Rose Campground and the Tamarack Lake Trail both sit about 0.2 miles away, and the Tahoe Meadows Interpretive Tra is about half a mile off. Climbers can find Main Rock about 3.6 miles away.
